Awkward →
Blog by my friend about a zine he does, Awkward magazine - which hopefully I’ll be contributing to. I really like the way he writes - it’s kind of wordy, but shambolic and punctured by a self-deprecating self-awareness.
I particularly enjoy this manic diatribe:
“All that’s left now is to work work work and get better better better in the hope of one day scaling that...
Went to the degree show private view of the year...
I never really go out if I can possibly avoid it, but it was a good night – but, kind of depressing too, because it makes me miss art college, doing creative things, being around interesting people. I may have decided that I sort-of kind-of want to...
Okay, good, finally got an ambition sorted out. So how do I go about that, then?
I may have had a dream I was Sigourney Weaver?
Mmm. Sigourney Weaver.
Yesterday evening: dancing to Blue Orchid* in the...
We also decided we quite like Margaret Thatcher. Probably because we’re too young to know what she was actually like as prime minister. (Maybe also the drink talking?) Kind of a reverse backlash. She’s an old lady with big hair. There’s a mysterious appeal there, in my book. Sophie described her as “like the Queen Mother, but evil”.
*You know when you used to be really into something,...
